Austria: JCL GRAZ Giants vs Danube Dragons Home Opener

UPDATE: GAME HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO BAD WEATHER IN AUSTRIA!

AFL home opener for the JCL Graz Giants starts on Monday, April 1st at 2pm, at the Eggenberg ASKÖ stadium. Opponents are the Danube Dragons.

Giants had a bitter defeat from Swarco Raiders (31:21), and now are facing against another tough opponent. First week mistakes are being corrected and team is continuously improving.

Dragons won a game against the Giants in 2012, which led them to the playoffs where they lost from the champions Raiffeisen Vikings with a score 32:48. Dragons notable players - Tunde Ogun RB, Jonathan Dally QB and Thomas Hider WR, are back for this season as well, and AFL fans can look forward to an explosional offense. Dragons defense however has suffered - where it will be hard to replace DBs Gigl and Nader, but, DL John Cain is back.

JCL GRAZ GIANTS head coach Nick Johansen: "After a disappointing trip to Tyrol, we are focused and excited to play at home. The Dragons bring a very good football team to town in what is building up to be a very physical match up."
