Serbia: Media Flag Tournament To Help Save A Life

We already wrote about an American football club for women from Serbia - The Angel Duchesses. Now, right before the kickoff of their very first season, Duchesses are hosting a charity, media flag tournament.

And not just that, they're teaming up with TV, Radio and Press in order to help Anita Balaz, a little girl who needs a heart transplant.

Tournament will be held at the beach in Novi Sad, on Saturday, starting at 7pm. Duchesses will be the only football club participating, where the rest of the teams will be media.

National and local TV networks, radio stations and newspapers have already confirmed to participate. This will be the first time media will go hand in hand with American football, on the field.

Jovana Štetin, reporter for one of the biggest TV networks in Serbia - B92, says: "I'm excited to participate. I've been around Duchesses for quite some time, and their energy and optimism is second to none. They are role models, inspiration and pioneers. I had no second thoughts when I received the invitation, I was in right from the start, from helping organize to playing, even though I don't even have sports clothes (laughs). My colleagues and I want to help in any way we can, especially when it's for a higher cause - helping save a little girl and raising the awareness that it's not something people should overlook. We all have to come together."

Of course, TDEU will be at the tournament, covering via our Facebook fan page (CLICK HERE) and Twitter - @TouchdownEurope.

"We're all coming together to promote the sport, and, most importantly, help save a young life. We lost too many children whose parents couldn't afford expensive surgeries and treatments. Everyone can make a difference, even with 1 EURO!" says Mia Bajin, TDEU owner.

TDEU would like to invite everyone, not just Serbia, to help Anita by sending a small donation, as it was said in the statement above, even 1 euro counts.
