Netherlands: Arnhem Falcons 1st Win On The New Field

We already wrote about Falcons getting a new turf field - well, now the Falcons went out there and won!
It wasn't pretty, but the Arnhem Falcons senior team managed to hang on to a one point lead in the second game of the 2013 season. This leaves the Falcons with a 1-1 record after the first home-game of the season.

The Falcons took an early 6-0 lead after a quick drive in which a couple of long rushes by Brandon Stamper set the tone. Leiden Lightning managed to equalize in the second quarter and later on even took a 12-6 lead due to 2 missed extra points.

The Falcons managed to pick themselves up in the second half and scored the tying Touchdown and what later turned out to be the deciding PAT in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, it seemed the Falcons had several chances to run substantial time off the clock, only to turn the ball over a couple of times through fumbles.

In the end, Leiden proved unable to take advantage of these turnovers and the large audience that had gathered to watch this first game on the new FieldTurf field, could celebrate a Falcons win with the narrowest of margins: 13-12.
