FIDAF: Joe Montana In Italy

Joe Montana in Italy! The legendary quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, who won 4 Super Bowl NFL and was 3 times MVP will be in Trieste from 1 to 3 August for "American Football Camp".

This educational sport event is intended for Italian players, coaches and amateurs as well as those from other European countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany and United Kingdom. The purpose of this initiative is to give the opportunity to the European American Football players to increase their technical and tactical knowledge by transferring many secrets of this sport on the field and in the classroom.

There is also an important social-cultural component in trying to bring all the athletes with the same passion and from different countries together. The didactic content will be handled, in collaboration with EFAF (European Federation of American Football), by US coaches and/or players who have been involved during their careers in the NFL (National Football League) and in with the main American Colleges. The practical activities will take place on the synthetic field “G. Ferrini” in Trieste, used for the official American Football matches. American BOwl Camp will be held at Nereo Rocco Stadium. 

With Montana, in coaching staff there will be also his former teammate Kris Haines, Lamont Warren, Sam Rogers, Matt Joyce and Shaun Gayle (who won Super Bowl with the Chicago Bears). 

The event was organized by tourist office Muggia, "Friuli Venezia Giulia" Region, the municipalities of Trieste and Muggia, and is sponsored by FIDAF (Italian Federation of American Football). There will be the italian coaches Simone Iori and Giorgio Longhi, president of the Italian coaches (AFC ITALY) and responsible for the development of the technical sector of 'EFAF (European Federation). With them, also Aitor Trabado, spanish coach and IFAF member. The coaching staff will follow the players on the field and coaches attending the clinic Camp.
