Germany: Allgäu Comets Sign Coach Jeff Scurran

After a rocky road in the past 2-3 years, Allgäu Comets are taking the spotlight with a big signing. Coach Jeff Scurran is set to take over the Comets football program for the upcoming season.

Coach Scurran has an extensive experience coaching high school football in The States, with the record of 273-84-2. He has been named Coach Of The Year 15 times, in 4 states and State All-Star Coach 4 times. He was the NFL-SCA National Coach Of The Year in 2007-08.

- We loved our time in Florence. The people We’r great and Florence is a special place. I had friends in Germany who knew the situation for the Comets and thought we’d be a good match. They recommended me to the team, that’s how we started talking. But my family came to the USA from Bavaria, so we were always interested in that area and we’ve vacationed there many times. - says Coach Scurran, who is right now working with the staff to get organized and assess the situation.

- The Comets made the playoffs last year with an interim coach taking over midway. He did a wonderful job with the team. I plan on building from what he started. I also want to treat the dedicated players to a “real view” of American football; how we practice, prepare, work and become a team. That is my initial goal.

It's without a doubt that Coach Scurran will turn the Comets program around for better.
