Very hot Sunday afternoon at Ada Stadium at Belgrade, 34 C and a burning turf field. Too hot to breathe, not to play an important game that will determent who goes to playoffs and who goes to the lower rang of competition.
Blue Dragons won this battle 32-12, not that hard as it was expected. In the beginning of first quarter it was already 14-0 for home team. Two great running plays for Dragons RB #5,Marko Bakovic, with help of a great O-line effort, made clear that home team will not risk anything in this game. With that score ended the first half, thanks to perfect defense reactions. Dragons start moving ball fast at the beginning of the second half, and with two great passes from backup QB #7, Danilo Antic for WR # 1 Corey Williams, Dragons were already trailing 26-0. All that Legionaries shown in second part of the game was two touchdowns, RB # 25 Loncarevic and WR Varga, just to keep their honor in Belgrade. Final score set Dragons young RB # 3, Nebojsa Erakovic with 5 yds rush. Blue Dragons Belgrade vs Sirmium Legionaries 32-12 (14:0, 0:0, 12:0, 6:12)

So, Dragons are in the playoffs, meeting Vukovi in semifinal game at Saturday, June 22nd. It will be another city rivalry at Ada turf, the only Serbian city derby. Dragons are a huuuuge underdogs in this game, but they are not waiving with white flag.
Semifinal game is only one week ahead, a short time to improve the game and to correct mistakes from the beginning of the season. Dragons didn’t have too much luck this season regarding injuries. Every game they played, a few starters were missing, and at the middle of the regular season their DC couldn’t attend practices and rest of the games. Shaken by defeats in first two games against Dukes and Panthers, lot of players were depressed and surprised. Now its time to break through the mental barrier and show a good game against the reigning Serbian Champion. A break through like they had in the games against Emperors, Royal Crowns and Legionaries.
For some of the players in Dragons team, this will be their last game of the career, and it’s more than certain that they will give their 110 % in battle for Belgrade. David versus Goliath, this time without rock and slingshot, just helmets and football.
