After a brief time off, TDEU is back and ready to provide you with the best coverage in more of a magazine style effect. New blogs, journals, stories, and the famous TDEU Hall of Fame is underway and ready to launch.
A welcomed addition to the TDEU staff is the new Managing Editor, Brian Casey. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge about the game of football and experience from playing and being involved with European American football the past six years. The creator and brains behind Touchdown Europe, Mia Bajin, is still behind TDEU, but adds help as she explores new ventures.
"It's been a 3 year ride so far, and it's been nothing but a positive experience. However, sometimes it's time to move on to new opportunities while trying not to slack with the old ones. After couple months of brainstorming, I felt Brian would be a great fit for the managing editor position, and I'm really excited he accepted the invitation to be the person in front of TDEU. He really is one of the kindest and hardest working guys in Europe right now and I'm sure he will continue the great path TDEU is on." –Mia Bajin.
Brian is a California native and spent his prep football in the Central Valley of California, and later played collegiate football at Southern California’s Azusa Pacific University. Casey started is professional career in the Arena Leagues with the West Texas Roughnecks of the IFL in Odessa, Texas. He then made the move to the European Leagues landing with the Allgau Comets (Kempten, Germany), Leipzig Lions (Leipzig, Germany), and now in his second season with the Sirmium Legionaries (Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia). In his off-seasons, Casey has spent time coaching at the Div. III collegiate level, Cal Lutheran University, and Div. I High School level, Clovis North High School.
“I have been in contact with Mia since I started playing for the Legionaries, and a great friendship was formed. Mia introduced me to new opportunities and guided me down certain career options. When the invitation was presented to me to become the new Managing Editor of TDEU, I basically jumped out of my seat with excitement. I owe a lot to Mia and appreciate her faith and trust in me. I have been fortunate enough to play the game I love for this long, and to travel while doing so. Football has opened so many doors for me over my career, and it is only fitting for me to give back to this great game." – Brian Casey.
