Philippines: Sunday's Jamboree Highlights

American Football Developmental League Jamboree was held past Sunday and coach Tim Beasley shared the experience!

In game 1, the Raiders faced off against the Panthers. With strong running from Leand Suguitan, he was able to lead the Panthers to victory by scoring the only score of their game, 7-0.

Game 2 had the Bears squaring off with Legion. Legion QB Bo Tamayo scored on a QB naked bootleg to break a 0-0 tie allowing Legion to escape with a 6-0 victory.

Game 3 was a nail-biter of the game with 2 teams with heavy hitters. Legion vs Raiders. Raiders, led by QB Carl Montano, kept Legion's defense off balance between the solid running of Vincent Posadas and the play action of Carl Montano. Raiders drew first blood by scoring first. Legion offense started off great with good field position from the kickoff. Terence Marca scored on a misdirection play. Coach David Mouatt gambled to go for 2 points attempt instead of taking the easy 1 point FG attempt. With a little trickery, QB Bo Tamayo hit TE JM Manlangit for a TE dump pass enabling Legion to get the two points and the win. Final score was 8-7 in favor of Legion.

Game 4 was the Panthers versus the Bears. Panthers stuck to the same game plan of running the ball with brother combo of Leand and Dozz Suguitan. Leand put the team on his back and ran all day against a Bears defense but it was Dozz who surprised the Bears with a FB Dive carrying 5 Bears into the end zone with him for the Panther's first score. After a couple of defensive stops by both team, Panthers QB Jai Merchant was looking for receivers to throw to but just tucked the ball and ran into the end zone for the team's second touchdown of the game. Final score was Panthers 14, Bears 0.

Overall, it was fun-filled day with friends and family supporting all the players in what would be a start of something big in American Football in the Philippines!
